As a Deputy Regional Disaster Officer at the American Red Cross, you will play a critical role in leading our disaster response efforts in the region. Your expertise and leadership will empower volunteers to deliver critical services to those affected by disasters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of employees and volunteers to implement disaster cycle services programming throughout the region.
  • Oversee the successful implementation of the entire disaster cycle services program in alignment with Fundamental Principles and established program standards.
  • Champion and drive the development of regional Disaster Leadership Volunteers to meet specific responsibilities in disaster readiness, preparedness, response, and recovery.
  • Engage community partners to prepare and mobilize communities for disasters and emergencies.
  • Manage in a matrix environment with internal partners, including employees and volunteers.
  • Act as the regional disaster leader and Red Cross disaster subject matter expert.
  • Initiate, scale, coordinate, and manage disaster relief operations in the region in alignment with the Disaster Cycle Services Concept of Operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience.
  • 5 years of management experience of paid or volunteer workforce.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong program management experience.
