Manufacturing Supervisor - 3rd Shift

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing, organizing, and directing production operations, which include the assembly of subcomponents, final products, rework, and other related tasks necessary to achieve manufacturing objectives. This position requires adherence to production timelines, quality benchmarks, and fostering a positive work environment. The Manufacturing Supervisor is tasked with managing the workforce, enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and addressing compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to meet quality standards, timely product delivery, cost management, and staff development.
  • Recruit and train personnel, assess performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide direct oversight and mentorship to the production team, fostering teamwork and offering constructive feedback.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identify and address material shortages, equipment issues, and personnel challenges to maintain production schedules.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of work order documentation.
  • Exercise sound judgment and leadership in making quality-related decisions.
  • Identify training requirements and coordinate with training staff for implementation.
  • Manage production changeovers, start-ups, specification modifications, testing protocols, and trial runs.
  • Lead efforts to identify and resolve production-related challenges, ensuring consistent achievement of production standards.
  • Utilize effective judgment in addressing serious safety, personnel, or operational emergencies.
  • Coordinate departmental activities to ensure compliance with all relevant Federal, State, Local, and Company regulations, including FDA, EPA, OSHA, ISO, and EEOC standards.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary, ensuring they align with the core responsibilities of the role.
  • Engage in special projects as they arise.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, a positive attitude, dedication, and respect in all interactions.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to interpret and evaluate procedures and specifications.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent customer service abilities.
  • Highly disciplined, analytical thinker, and a collaborative problem-solver with a robust work ethic.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work autonomously.

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Production, Engineering, Quality, or Materials is advantageous.

Work Environment

  • Work is conducted in a clean room setting.
  • The role may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Travel is typically less than 5% of the time.
  • Must be capable of occasionally lifting and moving objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
