The VA San Diego Healthcare System is a comprehensive healthcare facility that provides a wide range of medical services to Veterans and their families. Our healthcare teams are deeply experienced and guided by the needs of Veterans, their families, and caregivers.
Responsibilities
As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to a diverse population of Veterans. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct patient care, including acute and chronic illness, gender-specific PC, mental health, and preventative care
- Establishing a patient-centered practice environment and philosophy
- Providing education pertinent to care needs and documenting the provision of that education
- Notifying patients of all test results requiring action within 7 days and all test results not requiring action within 14 days
- Enhancing the management of patients with chronic illness and identifying patients with suboptimal chronic disease indices
- Using face-to-face, telehealth, and virtual care delivery methods
Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have:
- A current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia
- Board certification/board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Experience in providing scope of care as described
- Basic Life support (BLS) or the equivalent through the American Heart Association
- DEA certification
