Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Production Engineering Leader to become a vital part of our organization. The ideal candidate will oversee our production engineering division and spearhead ongoing enhancements in our manufacturing methodologies. This role demands the application of advanced engineering practices and the capability to lead a team of engineers effectively. The Production Engineering Leader will play a crucial role in ensuring our manufacturing processes are efficient, cost-effective, and uphold the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the daily functions of the production engineering department, including planning, organizing, and controlling operations to maximize asset returns.
2. Design and execute advanced manufacturing techniques to support current production and facilitate new product launches.
3. Collaborate with design and production teams to create and implement cost-efficient manufacturing strategies.
4. Champion continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, minimizing waste, and improving product quality.
5. Lead projects focused on reducing manufacturing costs, refining processes, and eliminating waste.
6. Ensure compliance with industry and internal quality standards across all manufacturing processes.
7. Provide leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, including recruitment, training, performance assessments, and professional development.
8. Enforce safety protocols and practices for all operational activities.
9. Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop strategies for improvement.
10. Contribute to the formulation of short-term and long-term plans and budgets aligned with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
2. At least 5 years of experience in a production engineering role, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership capacity.
3. Proficient in CAD/CAM software and other engineering tools.
4. Strong grasp of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
5. Proven leadership skills, with a history of managing and developing teams.
6. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, focusing on root cause analysis and sustainable solutions.
7. Excellent project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information effectively.
9. A successful track record of implementing process improvements in a manufacturing context.
10. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
