Summary: Responsible for improving manufacturing operations and product lines (improved efficiency and quality at reduced costs) through continuous improvement. This will be accomplished by: helping to establish baseline bills of materials, complete reproducible drawing packages, and complete production process sheets. All changes will be properly documented through engineering change system.

Qualification: Requires a BS in Engineering or 5 years of equivalent direct job related experience. Computer software knowledge of MS Office and CAD experience required.


Responsibilities:


Design and implement product improvements and modifications for change of use or upgrades.

Designing, implementing, and refining production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Developing and maintaining detailed documentation for production operations, including process flowcharts and standard operating procedures.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to coordinate production schedules and ensure timely delivery of products.

Monitoring production metrics and analyzing data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Implementing and overseeing quality control procedures to meet product specifications.

Assisting in the selection, installation, and commissioning of new production equipment and machinery.

Providing engineering support for production issues, troubleshooting problems, and implementing corrective actions.

Training production staff on new processes and technologies to enhance productivity and ensure safety compliance.

Working with product development teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of new products.

Optimizing resource utilization by planning and allocating labor, materials, and equipment.

Staying abreast of advancements in production engineering and related technologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.


Specific Duties

Creation of purchasing BOM’s from engineering data and manufacturing work instructions or task lists. This includes raw material calculations to optimize material use.

Develop tasks lists for unit renovations.

Gather documentation and release manufacturing and sub contactor job traveler packages.

Estimating of task and project man-hours and timelines.

Tracking revision level for unit/product builds.

Gathering of documentation and support release for sub-contracted fabrication services.

Identify revision needs for engineering and manufacturing build documents. Revision of manufacturing work instructions/documents and communicate needs for engineering document revisions.

Champion of safe work practices and developing safe work procedures and process sheets.

Develops cost & time efficient manufacturing / production processes.

Train work force as needed / required for “Good Manufacture Practices” (GMP’s).

Assist in development of overall Production sequencing.

Timely completion of all process related documentation and work instructions.

Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed in all work instructions.

Develop and control all Production work instructions as directed and using Engineered and conceptual designs in the development.

Maintain work area & equipment in a clean orderly condition.

Develop standard Production practices as directed / needed.

Ensure that our quality standards and testing criteria are part of all work instructions & training.

Participate and provide input for development of documentation.

Create and manage programs to increase efficiency and cost reductions towards overall “continuous improvements”.


Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


Ability to properly interpret and create engineering drawings, schematics and BOM’s.

Ability to accurately enter data into company data base, programs or spread sheets.

Ability to recognize component parts. Able to identify component parts with a part number.

Ability to implement “Design for Manufacturability” (DFM).

Must be familiar with common building tools, equipment and materials.

Able to use & interpret visual aids to assist in the training and orientation of Production personnel.

Must be professional and courteous when communicating to suppliers, carriers, customers, fellow workers and employees.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products and database skills.

Proficient in 2D CAD software; proficiency in 3D CAD software (CREO) desirable

Experience/knowledge of commercial construction, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems is desirable.

Experience/Knowledge in medical trailer and healthcare facility design and construction is highly desirable.
