Role Summary:
The CT Technologist II is responsible for executing intricate procedures and tests utilizing Computed Tomography (CT) equipment to gather and assess patient diagnostic information. This position collaborates with various medical teams (including Trauma, Stroke, and Cardiology) to secure essential imaging for advanced diagnostic purposes, facilitating informed treatment decisions.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:
1) Execute complex procedures and tests using CT equipment to gather and evaluate patient diagnostic data, collaborating with medical teams to ensure necessary imaging for advanced diagnoses.
2) Assist radiologists in high-risk invasive diagnostic techniques, such as needle biopsies and CT-guided procedures, while providing input for alternative methods and adjusting scan parameters to minimize radiation exposure.
3) Assess any contraindications, such as medications or patient readiness, and coordinate appropriate care with medical teams prior to patient arrival.
4) Perform various CT procedures as defined by protocols, demonstrating the ability to train junior team members on high-risk exams.
5) Identify diagnostic characteristics of normal and abnormal scans, alerting radiologists for further evaluation when necessary.
6) Manipulate parameters for specialized exams, ensuring proficiency in both equipment and computer settings.
7) Analyze scan data throughout examinations to ensure comprehensive results are provided to physicians, along with notes on any complications affecting image quality.
8) Manage care for anesthesia-related exams, ensuring optimal parameters and post-processing of images.
9) Obtain and manipulate images per established protocols, demonstrating thorough knowledge of CT algorithms and appropriate settings.
10) Administer contrast materials to patients following protocols, ensuring safety and adherence to procedures.


Additional Information

Education Requirements:
● Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science with advanced certification in Computed Tomography.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or eligibility for registration is required. For eligible candidates, a diploma from an accredited program must be provided.
● Advanced certification in CT is necessary.
● Candidates must maintain their registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
● All imaging specialists are required to maintain current competency in HCP BLS.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● A minimum of three years of experience as a CT Technologist is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated expertise in the field is essential.
