Senior Principal Power Electronics Engineer

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Power Electronics Engineer to join our team in Baltimore, MD. As a key member of our Power Conversion Technology design group, you will work with other engineers to develop state-of-the-art power supplies and power products for military applications.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform power supply design, including simulation and analysis, schematic creation, component selection, and printed wiring board layout.
- Perform technical trade studies and worst-case analysis and component stress analysis.
- Provide manufacturing support for hardware builds and develop Acceptance Test Procedures.
- Work in a lab environment and support hardware production.
- Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering or similar STEM degree and 8 years of relevant work experience, or Master's degree with 6 years of relevant work experience, or Ph.D. with 4 years.
- Familiarity with basic isolated and non-isolated circuit topologies and control techniques.
- Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g. SPICE, LTSpice, SABER), MathCad.
- Hands-on power supply or power systems design and development exposure.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Current Secret clearance (or higher).
- Familiarity with power supply EMI/EMC filtering and design.
- Digital control experience.
- Active power factor correction design experience.
- Magnetic component design experience.
- High voltage design experience (up to 200 kV).
- Working knowledge of power-related Mil-Stds for power quality and electromagnetic interference.
- Hardware development team leadership experience.

This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance or the transferal of an active DoD Secret Clearance and contract award.
The standard work schedule for this position is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Salary Range: $127,000 - $190,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
