Position Summary:
We are currently looking for a Project Engineer/Manager to become a vital part of our Traffic Engineering Team. This role presents a dynamic opportunity for diverse interactions and significant professional development. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical foundation, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong desire for continuous learning and growth. As a multi-disciplinary firm, we encourage interest in collaborative work across Traffic Engineering, Highway/Roadway Design, and Civil Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and train junior to mid-level designers and analysts.
- Conduct Traffic Impact and Parking Studies.
- Perform Intersection Capacity Analyses.
- Design Traffic Signal and Roadway Improvement Plans.
- Prepare Maintenance and Traffic Control drawings.
- Create Traffic Signal Timing Directives.
- Develop comprehensive submissions and applications for jurisdictional bodies.
- Manage projects, including zoning and land development permitting.
- Conduct field inspections and prepare project reports.
- Present findings at municipal, county, and state meetings.
Qualifications:
We seek candidates who not only possess technical skills but also demonstrate a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and innovating within the industry. The following qualifications are required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in traffic engineering or relevant highway design.
- Familiarity with Highway Capacity Software and Synchro/SimTraffic.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to excellence.
- Knowledge of NJDOT, NYSDOT, and PennDOT Design and Permitting is advantageous.
