Clinical Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology

The Keck School of Medicine at USC is actively seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This role is situated within the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and is a full-time appointment.
The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering clinical services in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) at USC Fertility, engaging in independent clinical research, and providing education to medical students, residents in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and fellows specializing in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Key responsibilities include performing ultrasound examinations, managing patient stimulations during IVF treatments, and executing egg retrieval and embryo transfer procedures.
Applicants must hold a valid medical license from the Medical Board of California and be board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Additionally, candidates should be board eligible in the subspecialty of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
It is essential for candidates to demonstrate a capacity for conducting research, whether in clinical or translational settings.
Teaching Responsibilities:
Candidates must possess the ability and willingness to educate at all levels, including medical students, residents, and fellows. The new faculty member will be expected to mentor residents and fellows and deliver lectures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current valid medical license/certification in California
- DEA certificate and CPR certification
- Board certification in OB/GYN
- Board eligible in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with supervisors, physicians, nurses, staff, students, patients, and their families
- High degree of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism
Job Responsibilities:
- Collect detailed and accurate medical histories from patients
- Conduct appropriate physical examinations, identify issues, and document findings
- Develop and implement patient management plans, coordinating referrals to specialty and social services
- Ensure continuity of care by recording progress notes and arranging follow-up plans
- Create expedited diagnostic and treatment plans for acute medical needs
- Perform and interpret common laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic procedures
- Execute medical procedures such as egg retrievals and embryo transfers, managing complications of OB/GYN conditions
- Counsel patients on compliance with therapeutic regimens, family planning, and emotional health
- Provide medical treatment for minor illnesses and address psychological concerns
- Teach, mentor, and lecture medical students, residents, and fellows
- Conduct independent clinical or translational research leading to timely promotion
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this position is $253,000 - $350,000. Factors considered in extending an offer include the scope of responsibilities, candidate experience, education, key skills, internal equity, and market considerations.
