The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology comprises over 27 faculty members and more than 120 private attending physicians across various specialties. It features an independent residency program with seven residents annually, alongside fellowship programs in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, and Gynecologic Oncology. As one of the busiest hospitals in the state, Cedars-Sinai handles over 6,000 deliveries and more than 2,500 gynecologic surgical procedures each year.

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology is staffed by seven board-certified gynecologic oncologists and collaborates with research scientists dedicated to women's cancer initiatives. This division boasts a strong history of excellence in patient care, research, and education, providing an outstanding environment for professional development and mentorship. The role is both clinically and academically active, featuring a robust surgical schedule and a significant portfolio of clinical trials, as well as pioneering translational research. Educational opportunities include tumor boards, grand rounds, morbidity and mortality conferences, journal clubs, and various didactic sessions.

The successful candidate will contribute research expertise and funding in gynecologic oncology, collaborating closely with existing faculty members from both the OBGYN and Cancer Center. This position requires independent work while maintaining close collaboration and guidance from the Division's faculty and staff. Responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks to support research initiatives in a specialized area, including project planning, experimental protocols, and the management of daily laboratory operations, which includes overseeing the gynecologic oncology tissue bank.

Qualified applicants must demonstrate a successful track record of funding and publications in the field of gynecologic cancer. As a faculty member, the candidate is expected to establish an independent and innovative research program, engage in collaborative projects with medical, basic science, and population science researchers, and actively contribute to the educational mission of the department. A cooperative and collegial approach within a diverse environment is essential. A strong commitment to academic medicine and excellence in education is required.

Compensation includes a competitive total package that encompasses salary, benefits, and additional incentive programs. The base salary range reflects various factors considered in compensation decisions, including knowledge, skills, relevant experience, and educational qualifications. This range does not account for the comprehensive benefits package and any applicable incentive payments.

Compensation Range: Pay Range $71,000 - $260,000

Qualifications:

  1. PhD or MD/PhD with a minimum of three years of experience in Gynecologic Oncology research.
  2. National or international recognition with proven capabilities as a Principal Investigator and mentor, including first-authored publications.
  3. Demonstrated success in securing grant funding.
  4. Proficient in computer systems, including a working knowledge of Windows or comparable operating systems for accessing patient and business information.
