Postdoctoral Research Associate

UCLA Health is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join our Interventional Translational Research Laboratory. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of Dr. Kaneko to explore intracranial artery disease and flow dynamics using a multidisciplinary approach.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the PI and team members to develop research plans, experimental designs, and data collection methods.
- Conduct innovative research in vascular biology, specifically targeting intracranial artery disease.
- Utilize techniques like western blotting, qPCR, immunostaining, and scanning, gene expression profiling, alongside bioinformatics analysis for data interpretation.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of experimental procedures, data, and analyses.
- Prepare research reports, scientific papers, and presentations summarizing findings, methodologies, and conclusions for publication and conferences.
- Write and review research grant proposals to secure funding for the project.
- Presenting findings at domestic and international conferences.

Qualifications:- MD or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Systems Biology, Neuroscience, Bioinformatics, Genetics or a related field.
- Extensive wet lab experience, including molecular biology techniques.
- Strong background in vascular systems and experience with vascular model setup and in vivo experimental procedures.
- Experience in analyzing data from high-resolution gene expression profiling techniques, including RNAseq, single-cell RNAseq, and spatial transcriptomics.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and build productive working relationships.
- Proficiency in relevant research methodologies, laboratory techniques, and data analysis/programming software.
