We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA). The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, systems biology, neuroscience, bioinformatics, genetics, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and team members to develop research plans, experimental designs, and data collection methods.
- Conduct innovative research in vascular biology, specifically targeting intracranial artery disease.
- Utilize techniques like western blotting, qPCR, immunostaining, and scanning, gene expression profiling, alongside bioinformatics analysis for data interpretation.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of experimental procedures, data, and analyses.
- Prepare research reports, scientific papers, and presentations summarizing findings, methodologies, and conclusions for publication and conferences.
- Write and review research grant proposals to secure funding for the project.
- Present findings at domestic and international conferences.
- MD or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Systems Biology, Neuroscience, Bioinformatics, Genetics, or a related field.
- Extensive wet lab experience, including molecular biology techniques.
- Strong background in vascular systems and experience with vascular model setup and in vivo experimental procedures.
- Experience in analyzing data from high-resolution gene expression profiling techniques, including RNAseq, single-cell RNAseq, and spatial transcriptomics.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and build productive working relationships.
- Proficiency in relevant research methodologies, laboratory techniques, and data analysis/programming software.
- Experience in cell culturing/encapsulation and pathological study techniques.
- Familiarity with experimental animal models and understanding of clinical trial protocols and ethical guidelines for animal research.
