Hospice Care Assistant Job Description

Hospice Of Hope, Inc is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Care Assistant to join our team. As a Hospice Care Assistant, you will provide essential care and support to terminally ill patients in their homes, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist with toileting and maintain patients' hygiene and change bedding as needed.
  • Help patients with mobility and transfer between wheelchairs, seats, and beds.
  • Prepare and serve meals, and assist patients with eating.
  • Conduct vital sign measurements, such as blood pressure and temperature.
  • Observe and report any changes in patients' condition to the Registered Nurse.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a State-approved Nurse Aide course and registration.
  • At least one year of experience in a patient care position in a hospital, nursing home, or related healthcare facility.
  • Personal qualities of empathy, responsibility, and dependability.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
Work Environment:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with weekends as scheduled. Care site: private residences, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and apartments.

Full-time non-exempt position with benefits.
