ERM International Group Limited is in search of a Senior PFAS Technical Consultant to enhance our Site Investigation and Remediation team. This position involves delivering expert technical guidance, innovative design solutions, and project support for site assessments, remediation efforts, and projects addressing emerging contaminants, with a focus on Per- and polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS).

As a Senior Consultant, you will leverage your leadership abilities, client engagement skills, and technical expertise to foster the expansion of ERM's operations and client relationships in the Mid-Atlantic region. You will also collaborate with ERM's global remediation specialists to exchange best practices within the industry. This role presents an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned professional aiming to elevate their career within a leading global environmental consultancy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on PFAS across diverse projects, including product stewardship, compliance, and site investigation and remediation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the North American Service Line leader to refine a global market strategy concerning PFAS.
  • Oversee and provide technical direction on site investigation and remediation projects for clients facing intricate technical and regulatory challenges in various sectors, including chemical, manufacturing, and oil and gas.
  • Design and negotiate remediation strategies for contaminated soil, groundwater, vapor, and sediment, utilizing both innovative and traditional treatment technologies.
  • Assist clients in formulating and executing strategies for managing contaminated sites.
  • Assess various remediation technologies for their suitability at specific locations.
  • Conduct remediation design activities, including analyzing field data, performing calculations, estimating costs, and preparing design documentation.
  • Delegate project tasks to team members effectively and mentor junior personnel.
  • Develop and nurture client relationships that lead to repeat business, enhancing the SIR sector across various industries.
  • Prepare technical proposals and engage in business development with existing and prospective clients.
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with colleagues across ERM.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years (12+ years preferred) of consulting experience with significant industrial clients on complex site investigation, remediation, and construction projects across various regulatory frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of PFAS-related issues, including publications in relevant journals and presentations at conferences.
  • Experience leading teams through all phases of remediation design projects.
  • Proficiency in preparing comprehensive technical and environmental reports.
  • Ability to engage with regulators and clients to facilitate project advancement.
  • Strong writing, communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Current Health and Safety training (HAZWOPER 40-hour and OSHA 30-hour certifications).
