At DHR Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve their maximum potential and independence.
Job Summary:The Occupational Therapist shall be responsible for providing a full range of occupational therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:- Conduct initial assessments and choose appropriate assessment tools, adaptive equipment, and materials/props used in the assessment based on the age and developmental level of the patient.
- Develop individualized treatment plans with short and long-term goals that are written objectively and are measurable.
- Implement interventions that are selected/documented based on assessment results and are appropriate for the patient's age, cognitive abilities, and/or developmental level.
- Consult with physicians regarding referrals for other services as needed.
- Use positive feedback to promote patient participation in their rehabilitation program.
- Evaluate patient response to the treatment plan and update the treatment plan as needed.
- Provide information to patients/families regarding current status, program planning, and discharge plans throughout the rehabilitation program.
- Participate in clinical staffing and provide/input to others on patient care.
- Function as a resource for and provide team members with inservice/cross-training on occupational therapy knowledge and skill areas.
- Participate in quality management activities and attend meetings to improve the quality of care delivered.
- Graduate from an approved four-year bachelor's degree program in occupational therapy.
- Current OT license and CPR certification.
- Adult and geriatric rehab experience is preferred.
- CPI within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians.
- Three to five years in-patient rehab experience.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
Provide excellent customer service to all DHR customers. All employees are required to attend the DHR C.A.R.E. program, which outlines the Customer Service Principles including Commitment, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Service.
Age-Specific:Employees must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in their assigned unit.
