X-Ray Technologist Job Description

At Concentra, we are seeking a skilled X-Ray Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing routine x-ray examinations, medical procedures, and testing under the direct supervision of a treating clinician.

Responsibilities:
  • X-Ray Technician Duties:
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, escorting them to dressing and x-ray rooms, and providing verbal and written instructions.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes, positioning equipment and adjusting controls according to examination specifications.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure patient and team member safety.
  • Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order, reporting malfunctions to the Center Operations Director.
  • Follow radiology workflows and ensure accurate documentation of patient x-ray visits.
  • Medical Support Specialist Duties:
  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, taking vital signs and conducting ancillary testing as needed.
  • Perform rapid screening tests, including influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.
  • Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
  • Responsible for performing routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician and triaging emergent patients as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Certifications and/or licenses: Completion of state-approved Limited Scope Technician certificate program and license by the state in which employed, if applicable.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Customarily has at least six months or more of medical assistant experience with knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Customarily has at least six months of demonstrated experience in X-Ray and familiarity with routine medical procedures.
  • Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) is preferred with prior medical office, healthcare, and/or customer service-related experience.
