X-Ray Technologist Job Description

Concentra is seeking a skilled X-Ray Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for performing routine x-ray examinations and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, including escorting them to dressing and x-ray rooms and providing verbal and written instructions.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to ensure accurate and safe imaging.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure patient and team member safety.
  • Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order and report any malfunctions to the Center Operations Director.
  • Follow documentation procedures and complete required documentation related to patient x-ray visits.
  • Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician, including taking vital signs and performing ancillary testing.
  • Assist providers during examinations and treatments, and prepare and assist with procedure setup and injury care.
  • Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered by the treating clinician, and dispense medications and DME as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of a state-approved Limited Scope Technician certificate program and license by the state in which employed, if applicable.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • At least six months of medical assistant experience with knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) is preferred.
