Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Technologist III to contribute to our state-of-the-art Blood Bank laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine requisitions and orders, ensuring the accuracy of related specimens, and document specimen collection details in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) as needed.
- Guarantee the precision of all conducted tests by following the laboratory's Standard Operating Procedures, and perform routine and advanced maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked work environment, ensuring adequate inventories of reagents and supplies.
- Provide guidance, training, and constructive feedback on laboratory procedures to team members, including training other technologists in specialized areas.
- Assist laboratory management in orienting new trainees, discussing schedules, and ensuring completion of all necessary preliminary paperwork, safety, and HIPAA training.
- Prepare teaching schedules for trainees across various laboratory sections, coordinating activities with section supervisors and senior staff.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a New York State Certified Medical Laboratory Technologist, or 4 years with a Master's degree.
- Experience in blood banking is required.

Compensation: Pay range of $45.29-$72.42
