Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of clinical testing and procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical testing in laboratory areas, adhering to Federal, NYSDOH, CAP, and TJC standards.
  • Answer telephones and communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Operate automated equipment, including Complete Blood Counts and Urinalysis testing.
  • Perform manual differential counts, slide preparation, and staining.
  • Conduct quality control procedures, including monitoring satellite refrigerators.
  • Participate in proficiency testing and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide guidance and technical training to laboratory personnel.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to implement corrective actions and maintain laboratory quality.
Requirements
  • Valid license as a clinical laboratory technologist, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist issued by the NYSED.
  • One year of full-time paid experience as a technologist in a clinical laboratory or blood bank.
