Role Summary:
This position is pivotal at the intersection of privacy, operational processes, and product development. The selected candidate will be tasked with balancing these elements while considering the interests of users, regulators, and the organization.
A successful candidate will possess the ability to understand and integrate diverse viewpoints to reach optimal outcomes for users, regulatory bodies, and the company.
Strategic communication skills are essential, enabling the TPM to convey progress and its implications for organizational objectives to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead company-wide initiatives focused on responsible data utilization and shape the strategy for a privacy-centric future of the messaging platform.
- Evaluate technological requirements, resource allocations, and market/regulatory demands to create robust project plans.
- Oversee cross-functional projects involving marketing, product development, engineering, legal, policy, and leadership teams to meet objectives; consistently monitor and report on progress.
- Assist in technical implementations alongside engineering teams.
- Serve as the privacy product authority within the Messenger organization, providing consultation and influencing various projects.
- Support Privacy Product Group reviews and advocate for project support, including bug triage and remediation efforts.
Essential Skills:
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities; adept at uniting multiple stakeholders to achieve objectives amidst significant ambiguity.
- Capacity to work autonomously with strong self-motivation and accountability. Skilled at influencing stakeholders, even when proposals may conflict with their team's objectives.
- Proficient in desktop and cloud-based applications such as Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of business and management principles related to strategic planning, resource allocation, and product development methodologies. Proven program management expertise in industry-standard practices, including PMP, Waterfall, and Agile.
- Ability to comprehend technical architecture or code related to web, mobile applications, and database systems.
- Demonstrated passion and experience in data privacy, security, compliance, and user safety.
