The George Washington University Hospital is a 385-bed tertiary care, academic medical center located in downtown Washington, DC. Our hospital features a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Level 3 NICU, offering clinical expertise in a variety of areas including cardiac, cancer, neurosciences, women's health, and advanced surgery including robotic and minimally invasive surgery.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our General Surgery team at The George Washington University Hospital. As a General Surgery RN, you will provide high-quality patient care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures, including laparoscopic cholecystectomies, tracheostomies, kidney and liver transplants, and trauma patients.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to patients undergoing general surgery procedures
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to physicians
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Current RN license in good standing with state licensing board
- BSN required or enrollment and completion of BSN within 5 years
- Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg experience in an acute care setting
- BLS certification (ACLS within 3 months of hire)
