Specific tasks, responsibilities, or competencies may be documented in the performance objectives as outlined by the immediate supervisor or manager.

1. Conducts thorough reviews of all patient medication orders to ensure clinical appropriateness and completes necessary inpatient unit order entries.2. Oversees the dispensing, ordering, and restocking of medications for the inpatient hospice unit, as applicable, and performs final verification of all patient-specific medication orders for accuracy. 3. Reviews and verifies third-party shipping vendor and pharmacy courier deliveries prior to shipment. 4. Supports established performance goals for all staff, focusing on minimizing and reducing errors in dispensing, data entry, and restocking. 5. Maintains exceptional customer service and client relations. 6. Develops and maintains practice documents for all established clients and responsibilities to assist in training new employees. 7. Manages inventory in accordance with financial and strategic guidelines.

Oversees inventory replenishment and orders pharmacy product supplies as necessary (in collaboration with the Lead Technician), including ongoing hospice inpatient and unit dispense machine inventory replenishment, as applicable.

8. Assists the Pharmacy Manager with routine formulary and inventory assessments for inpatient unit facilities.9. Coordinates effective inventory management of labels, vials, and other supplies.10. Ensures proper maintenance of related departmental equipment.11. Aids the Pharmacy Manager in conflict resolution among staff, when requested.12. Promotes and sustains a positive work culture and environment.13. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Safeguards the company's intellectual property and the privacy of customer and patient data.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as apparent.

Supervisory and Managerial Responsibility:
  • This position does not include supervisory or managerial responsibilities.

Qualifications:
  • RPh required, PharmD preferred.
  • Active pharmacy license in the state of operation.
Pharmacy licenses in other states or willingness to obtain additional licenses are preferred.
Experience:
  • Experience in LTC dispensing pharmacy.
  • Preferred experience in hospice and palliative care.
Experience in multidisciplinary team leadership across various settings is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrates competency in equianalgesic dosing, generic and therapeutic substitution, formulary management, and prior authorization procedures.
  • Shows understanding and adherence to all state and federal pharmacy practice rules and regulations.
  • Proficient typing and computer skills are essential for fulfilling responsibilities.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and good judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Equipment Proficiency:
  • Familiarity with Framework LTC dispensing software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy automation and remote dispensing is preferred.
  • Proficient in using a PC, business, and communication software (MS Office) and web-based tools.
Travel Requirements:
  • Limited travel may be required.
Work Environment:
  • Work is conducted in a professional office environment.
