Position Title: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)

Location: Silverdale, Washington area

In this role, you will collaborate closely with licensed speech-language pathologists to aid in the evaluation and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders across various age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support licensed speech-language pathologists in performing screenings and evaluations to identify speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing challenges.
  • Execute therapy plans and activities as outlined by the supervising speech-language pathologist to meet specific patient objectives.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to patients during therapy sessions, ensuring their safety and active participation in therapeutic exercises.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including speech-language pathologists, educators, and caregivers, to ensure comprehensive patient support.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining therapy materials and equipment to facilitate effective therapy sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Current certification as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in the state of Washington.
  • Prior experience in an educational environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices is advantageous.
