Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Luxury Sales Director to join our team at Churchill Downs Racetrack LLC.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a sales and service strategy, growing ticket revenue, and providing world-class customer experiences for luxury and suite ticketholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with Senior Directors to develop and execute sales strategies, achieving financial targets and client health metrics.
  • Luxury Sales & Service Management: Oversee the execution of license contractual obligations, including ticket distribution, accounting procedures, custom facility needs, and catering packages.
  • Team Management: Manage and coach a service team, utilizing best practice hospitality customs to provide exceptional customer experiences.
  • Client Relations: Build strong relationships with luxury and suite ticketholders, promoting Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby.
  • Process Optimization: Monitor and optimize processes to accurately serve customer purchase needs, improving cross-functional coordination.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in hospitality or related field, with a focus on sales and account management.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated passion for hospitality and/or the racing and entertainment industry.
  • Strong presentation development and delivery skills, with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office & Excel, with ability to learn new software, such as ticketing and CRM systems.
Working Conditions

This is a weekend and evening work position during live racing meets. Working conditions are normal for an office environment, with occasional requirements to maneuver around the racetrack and withstand hot/cold conditions.

Compensation

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
