Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Central States Manufacturing, Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of electrical and mechanical assignments to ensure the smooth operation of our plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical installations and maintenance work on plant electrical systems and equipment to ensure uninterrupted power and lighting.
  • Make electrical, plumbing, and general repairs to buildings, as well as troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machinery and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Diagnose and remedy electrical or electronic troubles, and repair and replace equipment as needed.
  • Coordinate the operation and installation of "download" systems from the computer network to machine controllers.
  • Obtain and maintain a forklift operator's license, and safely operate a forklift as needed.
  • Perform mechanical tasks as assigned, and enter equipment records, data, and notes into our computerized maintenance management system.
  • Maintain tools provided by the company, and furnish own tools as necessary to function properly in this role.
  • Perform fabrication, maintenance, joining, and cutting of ferrous and nonferrous metal parts and structures using various techniques, including welding and cutting.
  • Maintain good housekeeping of the workspace.
Requirements
  • Vocational or technical degree and a minimum of six years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machinery.
  • Ability to use and interpret technical drawings, prints, and schematics (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.).
  • Ability to use and interpret basic electrical and electronic theory and mechanics.
  • Knowledge of mechanical drawings to utilize complex part drawings, sectional views, electrical symbols, and especially schematics and ladder logic.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Welding and fabrication experience, preferably with Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings.
  • Knowledge of motor controls (drivers) AC and DC, and automated controllers such as AMS systems and CNC controllers.
