Job Summary

Golden State Water Company is seeking a highly skilled Public Policy and Government Affairs Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our public policy and government affairs strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement public policy and government affairs strategy to advance the company's interests
  • Represent the company at legislative hearings and meetings with government officials
  • Build and maintain relationships with government officials, industry leaders, and other stakeholders
  • Monitor and analyze government policies and regulations affecting the company
  • Develop and implement advocacy plans to influence government policy and decision-making
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of public policy and government affairs efforts with company goals
  • Provide strategic support to the Regulatory Affairs department in aligning California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and California Water Resources Control Board strategy and communications with the overall public affairs and legislative strategies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in political science, public policy, history, business or related fields
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in areas related to governmental affairs, lobbying, legislative or executive public service, or public affairs duties
  • Experience in utilities, and general knowledge of California Water Issues and the CPUC's processes strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to influence and build coalitions and relationships
