About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Analyst to join our team at Clarivate Analytics. As a Patent Analyst, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive searches and written opinions on patentability for a diverse range of technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough searches of commercial patent databases and proprietary databases of technical publications
  • Prepare written opinions applying relevant prior art to patent disclosures
  • Maintain proficiency with commercial patent searching databases and other proprietary databases of technical publications
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and changes to search procedures via self-directed review of materials provided by Clarivate
  • Ensure compliance with Clarivate's Code of Business Ethics and Corporate Conduct
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or related field
  • 1+ year of experience working with patents or in the intellectual property field
  • 1+ year of work experience in the industry or advanced research in a related field
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Strong time management skills and ability to complete projects against deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous patent examining/patent searching experience
  • Highly skilled in developing a search methodology and conducting searches
  • Experience with Orbit, PatBase, Google Scholar, or PatSeer
  • Master's degree or PhD
