About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Analyst with expertise in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biotechnology to join our team at Clarivate Analytics. As a remote independent contractor, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive searches and written opinions on patentability for diverse technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough searches to locate relevant prior art and provide a logical and complete search history.
  • Prepare written opinions applying the most relevant prior art to the disclosure.
  • Maintain proficiency with commercial patent searching databases and other proprietary databases of technical publications.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and changes to search procedures via self-directed review of materials provided by Clarivate.
  • Ensure compliance with Clarivate's Code of Business Ethics and Corporate Conduct.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • 1+ year of experience working with patents or in the intellectual property field.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and pass a USPTO Background check.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to complete projects against deadlines.
  • Experience with Orbit, PatBase, Google Scholar, or PatSeer is a plus.
