Ideal Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with a pesticide license and experience in identifying various plants, weeds, trees, and shrubs.

Note: A valid driver's license is mandatory for this position.

Employment Offer: This offer is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug screening and a satisfactory physical examination to assess the ability to perform job-related duties.

Compensation: $16 - $20 per hour, depending on experience.

We welcome candidates with landscaping experience who are eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately diagnose insect, disease, and weed problems while monitoring lawn quality and reporting progress to supervisors.
  • Utilize Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to determine the most effective and least harmful pest control methods.
  • Properly apply materials and operate various equipment, including trucks, backpack sprayers, hose reels, and motorized spreaders.
  • Handle materials safely and ensure proper mixing and transportation.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to and enforcing all safety protocols.
  • Conduct daily preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Engage with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and administrative tasks.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for site enhancements and additional services.
  • Participate in training sessions and obtain all required certifications for the role.
  • May oversee a small team of landscape crew members during seasonal projects.
  • Prepare equipment and tools for daily operations.
  • Safely transport crew members to job sites.
  • Provide on-site instruction and delegate responsibilities to crew members; train them effectively.
  • Offer guidance and constructive feedback to team members.
  • Perform daily tasks such as lawn maintenance, edging, mulching, and planting.
  • Address issues and escalate them to management as necessary.
  • Inspect completed jobs for quality assurance.
  • Assist with the installation and removal of commercial holiday decorations during the festive season.
  • Participate in snow removal activities and be available for emergency overtime when required.

Physical Requirements: Candidates must possess sufficient manual dexterity to perform landscaping tasks using hand and power tools, including pruning shears, shovels, rakes, mowers, and weed whackers. Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and navigate uneven terrain is essential. Must be capable of lifting and moving materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment: This position requires employees to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, humidity, and precipitation. Exposure to certain chemicals and allergens such as pollen and insects may occur.
