Position Overview

Optometric Technicians collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient support, conduct preliminary assessments, and manage appointment logistics, ensuring a seamless and professional experience for all patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute initial patient assessments prior to examinations, including dilation and the application of diagnostic medications.
  • Engage with patients to gather medical histories and understand their reasons for visits.
  • Support healthcare providers in delivering prompt and effective care.
  • Educate patients on treatment protocols and arrange follow-up consultations.
  • Discuss laser vision correction options with interested individuals.
  • Organize referral appointments and maintain accurate patient documentation.
  • Address patient inquiries regarding their treatment plans.
  • Identify suitable candidates for functional visual field testing.
  • Code procedures for billing purposes.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to practice improvement initiatives.
  • Complete end-of-day operational tasks.
  • Propose enhancements for workflow efficiency.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in patient evaluation and administering eye examination medications.
  • Knowledge of ocular treatment terminology.
  • Background in maintaining patient records.

Physical Requirements

  • Capability to communicate effectively, operate necessary equipment, and navigate the office environment.
