Job Overview

This initiative focuses on deploying a network of Low Earth Orbit satellites aimed at delivering high-speed, low-latency broadband connectivity to underserved communities globally. We seek a proactive and skilled individual to engage with aerospace hardware and equipment essential for this mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of distribution center racking systems.
  • Conduct metal and wood fabrications as required.
  • Ensure functionality of material handling equipment through regular maintenance.
  • Manage the upkeep of building pneumatic systems.
  • Support the maintenance of automated laboratory systems.
  • Execute preventative maintenance routines and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Track and manage departmental inventory, including spare parts.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Physical Requirements:

  • Engage in repetitive physical activities including bending, crouching, and climbing.
  • Lift tools and components weighing an average of 20 pounds, with occasional weights up to 80 pounds.
  • Exhibit dexterity in hand-eye coordination and manual tasks.
  • Work in varied environments, including confined spaces and fluctuating temperatures.

Operational Support:

  • Promote and maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
  • Commit to supporting production through safe and customer-focused practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow technicians while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate high levels of self-motivation and a customer-centric approach.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Apprentice-level experience in electrical and mechanical mechatronics (2-4 years) with proficiency in using multimeters.
  • Fundamental understanding of Ethernet cables and networking principles.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and understand electrical/electronic principles.
  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction with peers and management.
  • Educational background from a vocational school or college in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
  • 4+ years of apprenticeship or relevant experience in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.
