Job Title: Support Engineer III

Duration: 6+ months

Pay Range: $30/hr - $34/hr

Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in PCB assembly modification, wire harness construction, and prototype hardware evaluation within the aerospace sector.
  • Proficient in PCB rework, including manual soldering of electronic components and schematic interpretation.
  • Familiarity with standard electronic testing instruments (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Experience in supporting the advancement of space-oriented systems.
  • Background in aerospace production.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of drafting and refining written guidelines, documenting tasks performed, and liaising with engineers and management as necessary.
  • Relevant degree or certification in a related discipline.
  • Current or recently expired certification in IPC soldering standards, including 7711/7721, J-STD, and J-STD Space Applications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to ESD safety protocols and proper handling procedures for sensitive electronic components.
  • Conduct circuit board inspections, modifications, cable harness assembly, electronic box construction, and electrical signal assessments.
  • Assemble initial electronic testing setups, test fixtures, and associated wiring.
  • Perform inspections for first article conformal coating/staking and document any discrepancies.
  • Review pre-release work instructions and suggest enhancements for improved clarity.
  • Manage the EE Development Lab: maintain soldering stations, order and stock supplies, track assets, and monitor/update EHD Jira tickets.
  • Validate and uphold ESD workstations and ESD Protected Areas (EPA's).
  • Identify and rectify safety concerns within the lab environment.
Required Skills:
  • Current or recently expired IPC soldering certification, including 7711/7721, J-STD, and J-STD Space Applications.
  • 5+ years of experience in PCB assembly modification, wire harness fabrication, and prototype hardware testing in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience with PCB rework, including manual soldering of electronic components and schematic reading.
Experience Required:
  • 5+ years' experience in a relevant field.
Educational Background:
  • IPC soldering certification, including 7711/7721, J-STD, and J-STD Space Applications.
