We are currently seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Customs Specialist to join our team in the United States. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a passion for customs brokerage and freight forwarding to work with a dynamic company that values innovation and customer satisfaction.

Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for clearing goods through US Customs in a timely, seamless, and economical manner. This includes filing entry/entry summaries, managing customer communication, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and customs procedures.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Filing of entry/entry summaries, customer contact, electronic PGA, prior notification, electronic FCC, USDA, TSCA billing, RLF filing across the country.
  • Classification of all imported goods and request or compilation of necessary documentation, including cargo-control papers, customs invoices, and certificates of origin.
  • Coordination of transportation and storage of cleared goods and maintenance of accurate shipment files.
  • Troubleshooting customs issues and other government agency problems using knowledge of the ABI system.
  • Maintenance of up-to-date knowledge on industry rules and regulations and performance of customs duties.

Requirements:
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
  • Experience in food and wearing apparel clearance, as well as general commodities.
  • Able to anticipate and resolve problems with governmental agencies.
  • Proficient in filing and following ISF's.
  • Awareness of FDA, USDA, Fish & Wildlife, EPA, and other government agencies when applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2-3 years of Brokerage experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate to Advanced PC skills - MS Office.
  • Highly organized with a professional demeanor.
