Overview

Responsibilities

The Assembly Specialist will oversee the manufacture of completed units, ensuring the assembly of components into sub-assemblies, mating or joining of structural assemblies, and installation of systems. This role will also involve testing with mechanical, electrical, and electronic test equipment, as well as interfacing with engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and customer acceptance.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or management role. Experience working with multiple cross-functional groups, such as Quality, Assembly, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Machining, is also essential. A High School Diploma or GED is required, and an Associate or Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Candidates should also possess proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP, as well as experience in developing and managing a statement of work on time and within budget. Experience in a union environment with collective bargaining agreements is also beneficial, including skills in cost monitoring, project management, strategic planning, and new product introductions (NPI). The ability to work any shift, including alternative work weeks, is also required.
