The role involves teaching EMSP courses in environments that closely replicate industry standards while staying updated on current trends and advancements in the field.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver instruction on both theoretical concepts and practical applications of EMT and Advanced EMT.
  • Evaluate program or departmental student learning outcomes to foster continuous improvement and success, reporting findings to the program chair.
  • Exhibit strong computer proficiency, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage effectively with a diverse student body.
  • Availability for teaching during day, evening, or distance learning sessions may be required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A certificate in a Health-Related Field from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent military medical/hospital-based training.
  • National Registry AEMT certification.
  • Current AEMT license issued by the State of Georgia.
  • Active Georgia EMS Instructor/Coordinator AEMT license.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching at the postsecondary level.
  • Current AHA certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Familiarity with teaching using Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS).
