Integration and Testing Responsibilities:
Establishing the testing environment, developing test plans, executing integration and system tests, coordinating with various technical teams to troubleshoot issues, and guiding a testing team through the testing phases.
Experience with medium to large-scale systems that involve multiple interfaces is preferred. Familiarity with conducting interoperability tests with external systems is a plus but not mandatory.2)
Comprehensive Systems Engineering Tasks:
Engaging with clients to gather business requirements, drafting technical specifications, and designing systems to fulfill client needs.
This includes breaking down technical specifications into test cases and performing system tests or factory acceptance tests. Collaborating with clients during the deployment phase is advantageous but not required.The Engineering team at Tential develops, integrates, and tests both software and hardware solutions for real-time, high-availability data communication services supporting commercial aviation operations.
While COTS hardware is selected based on specifications, the primary focus is on in-house developed software and applications, ensuring seamless integration and thorough system testing.Subsystem upgrades are provided to our Operations Center, which operates around the clock to manage and monitor the systems delivering these services.
On-call support is available to the Operations Team from the Engineering division.Integration and system testing within the lab environment includes functional testing of enhancements, operational defect resolution, end-to-end testing, security assessments, failure scenario testing, and stress testing.
Deployment rehearsals in the testing environment are conducted to validate procedures and operational documentation for the Operations Team.
Most system testing is performed manually using various testing tools to manage data traffic and performance monitoring throughout the system.
Our team plays a crucial role in engineering projects, developing test procedures for technical specifications, system/software design, and operational scenarios not identified by other teams.
Upon completion of system testing, products are transitioned to the Operations Implementation Team for deployment into production.
Although there is no dedicated QA team, our Integration and Testing team ensures that high-quality products are delivered to meet stringent service level agreements with commercial aviation clients.
The testing environment comprises a sophisticated aviation end-to-end data communications system, including numerous Linux-based servers, VHF radios, networking devices, and interfaces to WAN transport networks.
Additionally, a variety of testing tools for data generation and performance analysis are included.Key Responsibilities:
1) Collaborating within a team of system engineers, software developers, network engineers, and fellow test engineers. Engaging fully from project inception to completion.
This encompasses participation in system requirements reviews, software design evaluations, understanding design specifications, test plan assessments, and providing technical support during integration and testing phases.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction with technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.2) Pre-Integration and Testing duties involve establishing a testing environment and creating a comprehensive Integration and Testing Plan from scratch, based on predefined and new operational scenarios for enhanced functionalities.
Strong communication and critical thinking skills are crucial for success during this project phase.
3) Integration and Testing duties include executing integration and system tests with other engineers in the testing environment to verify technical specifications, identify and rectify operational defects, and validate user documentation and deployment procedures. A final report will be reviewed with the technical team and relevant stakeholders as necessary.
Strong technical expertise and communication skills are vital for success during this phase.
4) Mentoring junior Integration and Testing engineers after acquiring system knowledge and experience to aid in their professional development.
This role provides an opportunity to showcase and enhance leadership skills, contributing to improved project performance in terms of quality, schedule adherence, and budget management.
