Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Director to lead our procurement team and drive strategic sourcing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in importing, contract management, and supply chain optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive supply strategy that delivers the lowest total cost, reduces inventory, and maximizes customer satisfaction through world-class service.
- Establish strategic parameters and processes across the purchasing team to effectively manage inventory levels, improve product turn metrics, and enhance fulfillment rates.
- Lead the supply team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed-upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Manage vendor relationships through a scorecard system, identifying and integrating new alternative supply sources to improve fulfillment rates and achieve better costing.
- Improve ROI with 3rd Party Freight Forward Service vendors by establishing priority preference contract agreements to shorten delivery times.
- Ensure serviceability and delivery deadlines are met or exceeded, and communicate inbound delivery receipts for inbound freight and backorders internally.
- Collaborate with Product Managers on sourcing and life cycle management of thousands of SKUs across key product categories.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Business, or related field
- 10-15 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field
- Proven track record of driving supply chain optimization, cost reduction, and process improvement
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers and drive business growth
