Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Procurement to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in importing and contract management, with a strong background in establishing and improving processes to synergize Purchasing, Inventory Management, Vendor Management, and Compliance Management teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a supply strategy that delivers the lowest total cost, reduces inventory, and maximizes customer satisfaction through world-class service.
  • Establish strategic parameters and processes across the purchasing team to effectively manage inventory levels while improving product turn metrics and fulfillment rates.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the supply team, executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed-upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Establish performance benchmarks and work with suppliers through a scorecard system, allowing for more effective vendor management of 3rd-party suppliers.
  • Improve ROI with 3rd-Party Freight Forward Service vendors, establishing priority preference contract agreements to shorten delivery times of direct shipment containers from suppliers.
  • Ensure serviceability and delivery deadlines are met or exceeded, and that all inbound delivery receipts for inbound freight and backorders are correctly communicated internally.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Business, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of experience in importing and contract management, with a strong background in establishing and improving processes.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate for better pricing and buying terms.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a continuous improvement approach.
  • Resolute personality to drive improved team performance.
