The Chemistry Department is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a David Lee Phillips Postdoctoral Fellow focusing on Physical Organic Chemistry. This role is designed as a temporary one-year appointment, with the potential for a second year based on performance and funding availability.
Key Responsibilities:

Candidate Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a strong interest in both experimental and theoretical aspects of physical organic chemistry. Preference will be given to those with a background in organic synthesis, computational methods, spectroscopy, photochemistry, and mechanistic analysis. Experience with time-resolved laser flash photolysis techniques is a plus. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. and show a commitment to undergraduate education.

Reporting Structure:
This role reports to the J. Warren Merrill Professor in Chemistry and Natural History, facilitating interactions with students, faculty, staff, and external collaborators.
Work Environment:
The position primarily involves work in an office and laboratory setting. It may require prolonged periods of sitting and some physical movement. Responsibilities may include operating photochemical equipment and handling reactive substances. Computer work will involve repetitive hand and wrist motions.
