District Office Assistant

About the Position:
The Blue Ridge Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to fill the role of District Office Receptionist/Front Desk. As the primary point of contact for visitors, parents, students, and staff members, this position requires strong customer service skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for supporting the daily functions of the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Human Resources in various administrative tasks, including communication with vendors, school personnel, and district office staff
- Manage office supplies, ensuring timely delivery and accurate tracking
- Meter and distribute the daily mail, maintaining a high level of organization and efficiency
- Respond to incoming phone calls, route calls to the appropriate personnel, take and relay messages, and respond to general inquiries in a courteous and timely manner
- Meet the public with tact and courtesy while answering questions correctly
- Maintain visitor sign-in logs, issue visitor badges, and ensure all visitors follow school district protocols for safety and security
- Develop and maintain knowledge of office procedures, practices, including filing systems and telephone techniques
- Utilize computer software and job-related applications to perform various tasks
- Apply pertinent school district policies, laws, rules, and regulations with good judgment in a variety of situations
- Perform general clerical and accounting duties as directed, processing incoming deposits and assisting fellow employees with their needs
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; more than two years' experience in an office environment, preferably in a school district
- Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently, effectively, and accurately
- Ability to interact with students, staff, and community members
Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. This figure is based on national averages and may vary according to local market conditions. The actual salary will be determined during the hiring process.
