Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team at Johnson County MED-ACT. As a Paramedic, you will play a critical role in delivering life-saving care to our community members during their most challenging moments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls in various out-of-hospital settings, including interfacility patient transfers.
  • Maintain scene safety, protect responders, patients, and the public, and assume personal risk.
  • Assess patient conditions and administer medical care and treatment in accordance with established protocols.
  • Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment and vehicles.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and first responders at the scene and in the hospital.
  • Conduct and participate in training exercises.
  • Ensure thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of patient care.
  • Return to a state of readiness quickly after calls.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with industry standards.
  • Function effectively as a member of a team.
  • Adhere to agency policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Complete administrative tasks by established deadlines.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Paramedic certification in the state of Kansas, or eligible for reciprocity.
  • Working twenty-four (24) hour shifts and up to thirty-six (36) hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Biennial Kansas Paramedic recertification at the employee's expense.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Two (2) years of experience providing advanced life support prehospital care is preferred.
