Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team at Newrest. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the activities of the storekeepers, delivery and warehouse staff, and ensuring that all activities meet or exceed agreed service levels and comply with company policies.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Plan and organize own activities, and those of the warehouse and delivery staff, to provide the most efficient and cost-effective service in line with budgeted service levels and performance targets.
  2. Monitor the efficient processing of all incoming and outgoing deliveries and ensure that stocks are maintained and stored in accordance with written company policies.
  3. Main user of the IT tools provides in the management of the inventory and the stock. Provide necessary information daily to generate the daily food cost.
  4. Maintain all records and information for reporting purposes, submitting all reports requested promptly and accurately.
  5. Supervise the correct use and maintenance delivery vehicles and cooling units, racking and warehouse fittings and immediately advise Contract field Manager of any malfunctions or difficulties with this equipment.
  6. Assist in maintaining a clean and well-organized warehouse and ensure that all company Health & Safety policies and procedures are maintained.
  7. Present at all arrival of truck, aircraft provided by the client. Provides report after each arrival as per the format provided.
  8. Checks and files all delivery & credit notes ensuring that there are no records missing and highlighting any discrepancies found.
  9. Updates goods in the system with the correct cost.
  10. Monitors all Purchase orders /Sales orders.
  11. Manage and organize perpetual inventory.
  12. Inputs all approved and authorized stock adjustments.
  13. Ensure that the Culture & Value program is understood and the same is communicated to all staff to enable them to live up to company expectations.
  14. Follow all applicable policies and procedures required for the successful execution of the job.
  15. Make recommendations for continual improvement and support improvement initiatives the company undertakes.
  16. To order goods and supplies to ensure that minimum stock levels are maintained.
  17. To liaise with senior managers on the ordering of goods which fall outside the agreed financial parameters.
  18. To order all items through approved suppliers only, obtaining permission for ordering any items which are only available through an alternate source.
  19. To ensure that goods received are of the quality and quantity ordered and in accordance with the agreed price.
  20. To ensure the timely and correct completion of all administration in respect of deliveries.
  21. To complete all documentation and take the necessary action in cases of non-delivery, substandard deliveries or over pricing.
  22. To ensure that all items are stored correctly, in terms of temperature, humidity and shelf life and that no food items are stored on the floor.
  23. To ensure that all chemical and non-food items are kept away and separate from food.
  24. To ensure correct stock rotation and that issues are affected on a first in, first out basis and first expiry first out basis.
  25. To ensure that all issues are made against requisitions and that no items leave the storeroom without the appropriate documentation or signature.
  26. To ensure maximum security of all storeroom areas, that no unauthorized person enters the stores or is issued with a key allowing access.
  27. To inform management and follow agreed procedures in the case of spoilage or damage of any item.
  28. To take stock at prescribed intervals and ensure that all necessary administration is completed without delay.
  29. To attend meetings or training courses as required.
  30. To motivate staff to maintain all safe procedures to achieve QHSE Targets and objectives.
  31. To effectively supervise staff to ensure all HSE rules & procedures are followed and hazards/ near miss and accidents are properly reported
  32. To raise HSE/Hazard awareness by actively participating in all HSE meetings.
  33. To follow Newrest HSE plan and achieve HSE targets set in yearly HSE Plan.
  34. To ensure that all materials and equipment are not left in a dangerous state and stored in order and safe way.
  35. Always guaranty the integrity of the containers and ensure their maintenance
  36. Always ensure the proper certification of the containers
  37. Organize and follow containers logistics
