Work Schedule:

Availability for varying shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential. A minimum of 36 hours per month is required.

Role Overview:

The Recreation Therapist is responsible for the planning, execution, coordination, and participation in therapeutic recreational activities tailored for client groups. This role involves conducting assessments, providing treatment recommendations based on individual needs, and effectively communicating with team members regarding client progress. The therapist collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary team, addressing clinical client matters. Communication regarding patient responses and progress is facilitated through rounds, documentation, staff meetings, and case discussions. Additionally, the therapist manages the procurement, storage, tracking, and resolution of issues related to recreational equipment.

Essential Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess experience in a therapeutic recreation setting, particularly within a healthcare environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not include supervisory duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Therapist.
