Job Summary

The Customer Service Representative - Appointment Coordinator will be responsible for accurately and efficiently answering and scheduling patient appointments under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments following established protocols
  • Obtain, verify, and input all information accurately into the scheduling system
  • Conduct insurance verification
  • Provide customer service to patients
  • Resolve patient inquiries or escalate for solution
  • Route calls to proper departments
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent typing skills and friendly telephone etiquette
  • Preferred qualifications include 6 months of clerical experience, experience working in a physician practice, experience in a call center, experience with an appointment scheduling system, proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of medical terminology, and bilingual in Spanish
Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff, and medical providers.

The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

This position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day.

Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management.
