Principal Digital Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Digital Electrical Engineer to join our team at Collins Aerospace, an RTX company. As a key member of our Mission Systems team, you will be responsible for designing and developing digital electrical systems for our customers. Key Responsibilities- Design and develop digital electrical systems for our customers, including circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and printed wiring boards (PWBs)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including layout, systems, mechanical, test, FPGA, and software engineers to ensure requirements are met at every level of design
- Perform design analyses, including timing, power, and signal integrity analysis, and troubleshoot issues
- Produce and present design documentation, including test requirements and design memos
- Lead and mentor other engineers to ensure successful project completion
- Proficient in digital CCA design, including parts selection, schematic capture, library management, and parts lists creation
- Proficient in PCB design, including stackup/plane/routing rules definition and verification, placement, constraints setting, and DRC validation
- Proficient in artwork (ODB++) validation and creating PWB/CCA drawing sets
- Proficient in design verification/analysis, including timing, power, and signal integrity analysis, bench-level testing, troubleshooting, and test results analysis
- Able to conduct trade studies and produce comprehensive design documentation, including test requirements and design memos
- Able to lead and mentor other engineers
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrical engineer developing digital/mixed signal high-speed circuit card assemblies (CCAs)
- Typically requires a degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Proficiency with Siemens' Xpedition design tools
- Understanding of IPC standards for PCB design and fabrication
- Understanding of IEEE and MIL standards
- Adept at using the Microsoft tool suite
- Proficiency with analog and mixed-signal circuits
