Columbia Vehicle Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials and services to support our manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement and Sourcing: Undertake decision-making and personal responsibility for issuing purchase orders, making follow-ups with vendors to ensure a continuous and uninterrupted flow of needed materials.
- Material Procurement: Conduct all necessary activities associated with material procurement, including MRP inputs, part planning, cost contracts, lead-time determination, and supplier records.
- Vendor Performance Monitoring: Monitor vendors' performances and take corrective action to remedy sub-performance in areas of on-time delivery, quality, cost, and responsiveness.
- New Vendor Identification and Evaluation: Identify, screen, select, and evaluate new vendors to ensure they meet our quality and cost standards.
- Cost Control: Take active measures to control the cost of inventory and proactively search for cost reduction opportunities.
Requirements:
- Decision-Making and Problem-Solving: Ability to maintain composure during high-stress situations, remaining focused on the ultimate goal.
- Data Analysis: Proficient in the use of data-based analysis to support decision-making.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, cost drivers, and market dynamics for assigned commodities.
- Communication and Documentation: Ability to effectively document and teach processes and procedures.
