About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse Specialist to join our team at Children's Health (Dallas).

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of job-related experience and a Four-year Bachelor's degree in Nursing. They will be responsible for independently performing the functions of a registered nurse in direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process to deliver developmentally appropriate care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment and Care Planning: The nurse will globally assess the patient's situation, using clinical judgment based on nursing skills acquired through formal and informal experiential knowledge and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Care Coordination: They will oversee care delivered by the patient care team, coordinating the plan of care to meet the patient's needs.
  • Educational Activities: The nurse will provide education and facilitate learning for patients, families, and the patient care team, demonstrating sensitivity to recognize, appreciate, and incorporate differences related to diversity.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year of job-related experience is required.
  • A Four-year Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
  • Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas is required.
  • BLS certification approved by the American Heart Association is required.
