EV Project Manager and Technical Specialist

Sustainable Ohio Public Energy Council (SOPEC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced EV Project Manager and Technical Expert to join our team. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in project management, technical expertise, and a passion for sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and implement grant-funded projects and programs related to electric vehicle infrastructure development;
- Work closely with SOPEC staff to ensure compliance with grant guidelines and requirements;
- Serve as the primary point of contact for grant project/program communications;
- Track and document grant-related performance measures;
- Coordinate cross-departmental activities related to the grant;
- Prepare and submit grant-related reporting;
- Provide technical expertise and support to SOPEC members and staff on projects related to electric vehicle infrastructure;
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as public administration, business administration, or a related field;
- Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred;
- At least 5 years of experience in grants, project management, business administration, and program management;
- Strong familiarity with solar, renewable technologies, energy efficiency, and electric vehicles is preferred;
- Ability to analyze complex data and determine key metrics;
- Passion for serving underserved communities;
- Ability to meet deadlines with quality products;
- Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment;
- Ability to serve as a public servant;
- Attention to detail;
- Professional and proactive work ethic;
- High competence in project and stakeholder management;
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
- Competency in Microsoft and Google applications;
- Some travel is occasionally required, with mileage reimbursed by SOPEC.
This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in project management, technical expertise, and a passion for sustainability. The successful candidate will work in a normal office setting and/or remotely, with occasional travel to local government meetings across Ohio.
SOPEC offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including required contribution by employee and employer to the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS). A background check will be required.
