Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the Operating Room for cases, selecting and checking case carts and preference cards for correct instruments and supplies.
  • Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other team members, responding promptly to requests for special equipment and supplies.
  • Assist operative teams, recognizing emergency situations and performing emergency procedures as directed.
  • Pass and track instruments, sutures, and supplies during procedures, monitoring sponges, needles, and instruments throughout the case.
  • Care for specimens to prevent loss or damage, using caution when handling specimens to ensure proper anatomical identification.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited school of surgical technology and certification as a surgical technologist.
  • Thorough knowledge of surgical technology and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and membership in the Association of Surgical Technologists.
