About the Position

The Foundation Relations Associate serves the development needs of Building Bridges Across the River. This position writes grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government entities, completes grant reports and deliverables, and seeks new funding opportunities to ensure annual fundraising goals are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior members of the Development team to write compelling grant proposals, renewals, reports, and letters of inquiry for programming and general operating expenses.
  • Work with program staff and finance staff to develop budgets and track progress against fundraising goals and deadlines.
  • Research and pursue new funding prospects, monitoring grant-supported projects for compliance with regulations and adherence to requirements.
  • Partner with the Finance team to develop and review grant application budgets, monitor activities, submit financial reports, and support other grant-related financial activities.
  • Represent Building Bridges Across the River through participation in community outreach and have the ability to speak knowledgeably about our work.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • One to three years of grant writing and reporting experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with funding databases.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and instructions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across organizations and program areas.
  • Ability to work well with people who have diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and working styles.
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and create project budgets.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and work independently.
  • Demonstrated high standards of ethics and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of wealth screening platforms.
  • Prospect research, project management, and presentation skills.
  • Deep knowledge of or experience working in DC's Ward 8.

Benefits

This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $60,000-$70,000. Benefits include PTO, Holiday Pay, Medical, Dental, Vision, and the ability to participate in the 401(K) Plan. Building Bridges is an equal-opportunity employer.
